Tauheed/Tawheed – The corner stone of Islamic civilization is Aqeda e Tauheed, means belief in the oneness of Allah. The Holy Quran says
“Is there any doubt about Allah, the Originator of the heavens and earth?” – Surah Ibrahim
This belief has a deep and direct impact on the lives of people and society. This concept develops the element of self esteem, dignity, confidence, determination and morale both in an individual and community.
Islamic Civilization And Culture – Meaning And Vital Elements
Spiritualism – Another distinctive aspect of Islamic civilization is spiritualism. The followers of Islam considered this worldly life temporary and uncertain and therefore they do not make worldly success the aim of their life. Though they utilize worldly resources to fulfil their needs but their main objective is success in the after world. The Holy Quran says
“The life of this world is merely enjoyment of delusion” – Surah Aal e Imran
Dignity Of Man – This concept can be understood from two perspectives. In first case it talks about dignity of man in general terms. It means in an Islamic civilization state is the custodian of dignity of every member of the society. The Holy Quran says
Role Of Civilization in Development Of Human Personality And Communities
“O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name [i.e., mention] of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.” – Al Hujurat 11
In second case it talks about dignity of man in particular terms. It says the blood of human beings is sacred and therefore it should not be shed without a genuine cause. The Holy Quran says
“Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely” – Al Mai’dah

Equality – Islam is strictly against class division of people in society. It believe in the equality of all men and women in society. The Holy Quran says
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware.” – Al Hujurat 13

Social Justice – A society without social justice cannot survive long. The Holy Quran says
“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives.” – An Nisa
Moral Values – Islam highly endorsed maintaining good moral values in the society. The Holy Quran says
“That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.” – Al Qasas
Tolerance – The Holy Quran says
“Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us in hope and in fear” – Al Anbya
Rule of Law – Islam also highly endorsed equality before law. It argued that justice should be based on impartiality, unbiasedness, equity and fairness. The Holy Quran says
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice.” – An Nisa
